Prepare your toddler for potty training | 3 tips you haven’t thought of before ditching the diapers

There are certain things that can help your child be prepared for potty training, and it might not be exactly what you think. Many parents think that having their child practice using the potty before they jump into potty training is really going to help their child learn how to use the potty and while they may learn a few things about going to the bathroom, it’s really not doing as much as parents think that it is doing for their child.

If you haven’t potty trained yet, I highly recommend getting the POTTY PARTY COURSE. This is my potty training course that I have made just for you, and for all the parents who have not started potty training yet. And I’m gonna lay it out for you to potty train your child quickly and easily the first time.

Things to do to prepare your toddler for potty training:

  • Make a paper countdown chain with your child. You can cut the strips and have them ready for this activity with your child, and get crayons, markers, stickers, glitter and whatever you want to use to decorate them. Have your child help you decorate these, then you should be the one putting them together because you’re going to have to use a stapler. Tell your child that every day they’re going to take one link off, and when there are no links left, that means there’s no diapers left either.
  • Let your child make lots of choices. Bring your child to the store, go down the potty aisle and tell them “you can pick whichever potty you want, which one do you want to use when you don’t have diapers anymore?” You want to let your child pick out their underwear, you want them to pick out stickers for their reward chart, and anything that your child CAN control. You need to let them control it because they are not going to be in control when it’s time to take the diaper away. That is your job as the parent to say no more diapers.
  • Have a plan and stick to it.  When it’s not planned out, it can be a chaotic experience and it can be a little bit confusing for your child.  I highly recommend grabbing my POTTY PARTY COURSE because you are going to have my plan that has worked for hundreds of families.
