How to Potty Train when your child isn’t interested!

Potty Training Your Disinterested Child

Are you wondering if it’s time to potty train your child yet that child seems completely disinterested? Then you need to keep reading.

If your child is completely disinterested in potty training, you might just think that it just isn’t the right time to potty train. People around you might tell you to “wait till your kids are ready”, or “wait until they give you those signs”. Some parents might even tell you that “my kid basically potty-trained themselves”. You might also think, “okay, my child’s like three and a half. They’re going to be four soon. When the heck do I potty train?”

Well, guess what? Not every child does that. And not every child is going to be like, “Hello, I’m interested in potty training” … so, here are some definite signs that your child is ready.

Signs that Your Child is Ready for Potty Training

Maybe your child is staying drier for longer. Maybe your child, instead of wetting their diaper every 30 minutes, is only going every two hours or so – yes, that means you have to pay attention to the amount of wetness that is in your child’s diaper (such is the life of a parent, right?).

If your child likes to go run and hide in a corner when they’re pooping, that means they are ready for some privacy, and that’s another sign that your child is ready for potty training. If your child brings you a new diaper when they have pooped or peed, then again, they are definitely ready.

Another sign that they are ready for potty training is that they can push down and pull up their own pants. If they can navigate their own clothing, then they are probably ready or very close to being ready to be able to be potty trained.

Readiness does not always come in the same shape or form, as every child is different in the way they express themselves. I have three kids and they all have their own potty training. You have to know your child. Some kids are totally interested in what’s going on in the bathroom, while others are totally oblivious to this. So if your child doesn’t ask any questions, or doesn’t seem to be interested, it doesn’t mean that they’re not ready for potty training. It simply means that they need more guidance to know what is going on in the bathroom.

JUST DO IT

Can I just give that a push? Can I just push and get my kid on the other side of potty training? Here’s a very simple answer: Yes. Just do it. Literally, just do it. It sounds difficult, but it is not. I promise you. And this is why I want you to really, really, really consider buying my potty-training course.

Now, my course is called The Potty Party for a reason. I am very passionate about making potty training fun. This is a bonding experience between you and your children. So I want you to just do it and get the potty party going! And I would love you to do it my way because my way is proven to be effective.

And my plan is so easy to follow. I kid you not. People are telling me that they have potty-trained their children in three days, maybe even less. For the children who are ready, my methods work and it makes it easy for all.

Here’s a little sneak peek of what is in this course. A big portion of potty training is laying the foundation, aka “planting the seeds”. In phase one, we’re planting the seeds with your child. You need to tell your child that in X amount of days, they are not going to wear diapers anymore because they’re a big girl or a big boy now, and they don’t need diapers anymore. Then, teach them how to use the potty and that’s that. Don’t let your child tell you “no”. And this is a huge part of parenting that a lot of parents need to learn. I know that there is a lot of literature out there about certain ways of parenting, but we cannot take the actual act of parenting out of being a parent. We’re not here to be our child’s best friend. We are here to teach them lessons, to teach them how to do things, and one of the first lessons is potty training.

And that leads me to my next point: potty training is your first glimpse into how your child learns. From this, you can figure out your child’s learning style. Some kids are very good at following instructions, and they do really well with being told what to do, while others might need to learn from their own experiences. Some kids, of course, need a blend of both. But this is your moment to learn how your child learns.

Let Them Choose

I want you to make a countdown chain with your child. If your child is involved in the process of cutting, taping, decorating the links on the countdown chain, you are way more likely to get your child excited about the process and they will be ready to ditch the diapers!

You need to make your child believe that they are making the choices to do the whole process. So, let your child pick out the underwear, let your child pick out the stickers they want on their chart or the rewards they want when they go pee or poop.

Let them pick the potty seat they want to use. This can be a huge hurdle for some parents. Some parents are very against the little potties, while some really don’t want their kids climbing up onto the adult size toilet. But guess what? It’s not your choice. It is your child’s choice! So, take your child to the store, let them pick out what toilet they want to use. And this way, your child is going to be interested in using it. I promise you.

It’s really important to use your child’s interest as an incentive. So if your child is interested in race cars or dolls or whatever, just buy those for their prizes (within reason, of course). So, seriously, it’s really simple. If you listen to my strategies and follow the instructions on my course, I promise you that potty training will be super easy. And it will be a potty party!

No Turning Back!

Once you have decided to start potty training, do not look back! You need to 100000% consistent here because there is no turning back. There is no putting that diaper back on that child during the day.

Head over to this page, buy the course, download the PDF and go through every single step, and I promise you that you will be done with diapers! I want to help you get started on potty-training your reluctant child, and, more than that, I want to help you to make this an enjoyable and meaningful bonding experience for all!

And as always, don’t hesitate to comment or contact me if you have any questions. Keep blooming.
