Keeping Babies Dry Overnight

Keeping Babies Dry Overnight

Your baby finally started sleeping through the night, but you’re worried about them soaking through their diaper. I’m going to give you all my tips on keeping your baby dry overnight.

Preventing babies from soaking through diapers, clothes and bedsheets

Let’s start with diapers, the brand truly doesn’t matter. You have to try different brands with your child to know what works best for your child. I used pampers for my boys, but Huggies worked better for my daughter. So you really have to just give and take and try different things. There’s the target brand, the Honest diapers, there’s so many kinds. I didn’t like the target brand. They really did not do the job for me, and they gave my daughter a rash. But, then other people swear by them. So you really have to just try different things and figure out what works best for your child, and your budget. Plus, there’s always a coupon, so don’t worry about that part.

Keep your Baby Dry at Night

If you’re using regular daytime diapers for your child at night. You want to make sure that you’re going up one size, for overnights so that it’s more absorbent. If you’re already using the 12-hour overnight diapers now, then you also want to go up a size in those as well. As your child moves around throughout the night, and kind of transitions through their sleep cycles. They may move their diaper around a little too much. So having it be one size up is going to increase the absorbency and coverage.

I think all the major brands now make these overnight diapers, made for 12 hour absorbency. So give them a shot.

Must Try

  • Overnight Diapers
  • Diaper Inserts
  • Bed pads

What to Avoid to Keep Your Baby Dry

Some people say that they like to use two diapers on their child overnight. I don’t really se

e it being beneficial. I’ve tried it with my kids, and the second one really doesn’t absorb anything. It kind of just like holds it all together.

Parents often ask, should I be putting a sippy cup of water in my child’s crib, and the answer is no! As long as your child is getting enough during the day, they’re going to be fine overnight. Our bodies are made to sleep over night they do not need to wake up in the night to get water. So they definitely do not need a sippy cup of water in their crib at night, it’s just a disaster waiting to happen.
