Potty Training Made Easy: Must-Have Products for Success!
One of the most common mistakes I see with potty training is parents beginning the process without all the right materials! Here is a master list of all the necessities to make potty training the best experience possible for you and your child!

1. The Perfect Throne
Choose a potty that your child loves. Whether it’s a toilet insert or a standalone potty, let them make the decision. After all, they’re the ones using it!
2. Reach for the Stars (with a Step Stool)
Make handwashing a breeze with a handy step stool. Even if your child is not using a potty insert, they will need some sort of stool to reach the sink. I also recommend The Squatty Potty! The Squatty Potty actually wraps around the toilet, and your child can spread their legs into more of a natural squatting position when using the toilet. If not, a step stool should be fine! As long as your child’s legs are not dangling when they are using the toilet then all is well in the poop World.
3. The Wonders of Flushable Wipes
Flushable wipes are fantastic for that extra cleanliness and get everything if you know what I mean. Keep a small trash can nearby if you prefer not to flush them. It’s your call!

4. Books for Imaginative Minds
Don’t forget to bring in the power of books! Borrow or buy some potty-themed books to spark imagination and encourage conversations about potty training.
5. Protect the Mattress
Naptime without diapers? Invest in a mattress protector to avoid any unexpected accidents. It’s better to be safe than sorry, protect your assets!
6. Pee Pads: Saviors of Surfaces
Prepare for accidents by using pee pads strategically. Place them under smaller potties or on beds and couches during those initial few weeks of training.
7. Cleaning Supplies: Accidents Happen
Equip yourself with cleaning supplies to handle accidents with ease. It’s also a great idea to have a separate bin of child-friendly cleaning tools for your little one to help out, which is a step in my potty training course!
8. Reward Chart: Motivation Station
Create a reward system with a sticker chart to celebrate your child’s successes. Let them choose their own prizes to stay motivated along the way. Here is one of the ones I use in my course:
9. Prize Bin: Treasures Await
Set up a special bin filled with exciting prizes. Decorate it and place it somewhere your child can see but not reach. It’s a fantastic incentive to earn rewards!
10. Potty Bin: Sit and Relax
A designated potty bin filled with engaging items can make potty time more enjoyable. Keep it accessible only while they’re on the potty, and put it away afterward. This can contain items like fidgets, windmills, or even a recorder!
